"Looks like Baghdad"

That's what the kid said as he walked by. It's not Baghdad though. It's the Fulton Avenue Bridge; or what's left of it after demo work was begun. There's a lot of steel (rebar) in this old bridge. It's gonna take months just to bust up the concrete to haul it away.

Do I get the cool jobs or what? The green boxes below contain electrical cables. The cables weren't destroyed, though the boxes took a pretty good beating. I had to test the cables for Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. After lunch, I got stung by a bee on the chest. So the guys were making jokes about me being lopsided now, and that I'd need a special bra once my man-boob swelled up. But I ask, would it be "The Bro", or a "Manzierre"?

It was a beautiful, sunny day. Lots of people were touring the zoo, and I think many of them came just to see the bridge demo work. The neat thing was, here we were, doing construction work, and one hundred feet away were giraffes, or tigers, or African Grey Parrots saying "Shawn is cool." Back to the steel mill tomorrow though.

Isn't it sad that a child would know images of war. Sometimes I think the news should be R rated.
