I got started early yesterday by loading up my truck with various stuff to drop off at various places. First, I got 12 bucks for a bag of aluminum cans at the scrap yard, then I went to the Harley shop to pick up my new motorcycle parts. I dropped off a wheelbarrow at Bob's house, so he could move 5 yards of mulch around his wife's flower beds. Then I went home to put the new pieces on the bike.
The new seat is supposed to be more comfortable for both the rider and passenger. The backrest pad will make a passenger feel safer. I'm not sure I like the looks of the bike, but when I give someone a ride, they'll feel better, so that's ok.
I had one more item to drop off at Ricks, and Tina's sister, Karen wanted to see the baby alpaca, so we squeezed into my little Ford Ranger and headed south. Here, I'm trying to get the baby so the girls can hold him. Oh yeah, it turns out that he's a he, not a she. Damn the bad luck!
Karen held Augie first, but she put him down since Maggie was acting nervous. I caught him again so Tina could get a turn holding him.
We also said hello to Raisin and gave him a few vegetables. He liked the carrots and the apple, but not the celery.
Next stop was my parents' house, where Tina and Karen picked blackberries, apples, sweet corn, peppers, onions, a watermelon, and a pumpkin. Tina has her camo gear on.
The quote of the day was when Karen, while holding up some vegetables, said "I didn't know these things grow!" That got me laughing, even though I know what she meant was that she didn't know some of the vegetables could grow as far north as Ohio.
Katie had a good time breathing in the fresh country air and seeing Stumpus, Amos (or Andy) and Hamamia.
Next stop was at Steve's house. He had to work, but Dar and the girls were home. E was as high as a kite. Katie and Floyd ran around sniffing each other's butts.
C was her usual demure self. She helped take care of Katie, and showed us part of her fair project in photography, for which she was graded with an "A". Way in the back of their yard, Steve has two artificial deer standing at the corner of the woods. C, E, and I exchanged chuckles and smirks while I told Tina about the two deer standing back there. Tina was going to take some pictures, and I told her she should try to get closer. Unfortunately, Darlene spoiled our fun and let them know the truth.
On the way home, one of the four of us had some really bad gas. I'm still not sure who it was, but Karen couldn't get the window down fast enough. I think it was Katie. In any case, I was unable to roll my window down, which made for a lasting impression. I told Tina and Karen that it was "that country fresh air", but they weren't buying it.
We built a little fire and did some hotdog roasting. Patty did well with her garage sale. Charles was glad to get out of the house. I drank three beers, then began nodding off as Patty told a story. We called it a night shortly afterwards. I wonder what Patty was saying...?
