To enable friends and family to keep up with what I'm doing, offer my own insights on life, and tell a funny story once in awhile.

I ate breakfast at Sal's on West 25th Street. Crystal has gone blond now, and I think I hurt her feelings when I said she looked good as a redhead. She quickly corrected me. Sal made me a fine western omelet! Then I headed to Hoopples for a warm-up beer. I got there early, but the cook was happy to get me draught Dortmunder until the bartender arrived. My buddy got there shortly after I did, and we talked shop for a bit. The advantage of arriving early is that all the beer is really ice cold! His bud froze once he popped the top off.
Then we headed off to the main event! Cleveland Indian's vs Detroit Tigers at noon. It was a great game, which the Indians won 9-4. I was thinking of my friends, hard at work, while I drank beer, ate peanuts, and watched Grady Sizemore hit his 27th homerun. Poor Bastards!
After the game, we stopped at Gallagher's to see Daneen. She was smokin' in a tank-top and camo pants. Shaggy and Jimmy 1450 met up with me after work (they came to see Daneen too, not me) and we had a few more beers and shot the shit. Afterwards, I went to Mitchell's for wings and icewater. It was a fun-filled afternoon, just what one needs to do once in a while in the summer.

I like starting my day early. The mist hadn't yet burned off the valley. It was still nice and cool, but there were lots of mosquitoes out.
Tina has been raiding my attic for shirts and shorts. She looks better in my old Singapore shirt than I ever did!
Of course, I had to follow the path less taken...
Katers had a great time being a dog. I don't think Ellen would have approved of this when she was alive, but, God bless her, I'm sure she's looking down and smiling.
The storm lasted about an hour, then the sun broke out again. I fire-taped the cables, and we called it a day.
I'm shrinking the conductive boot over the oil-barrier tubes and lead jacket now.
The cables are ready for the connectors. Notice the triangular shape of the conductors. These are called compact sector conductors, and allow for a smaller over-all diameter of the cable.
One of the major differences with working with lead cables is that the grounding braids and shielding mesh get soldered to the lead jacket. This isn't for the novice. Imagine what would happen if one were to melt through the lead jacket....
Splice complete! The next day, we taped up the cable end connections, chopped up the lead cable and tossed it into a dumpster for the customer, then cleaned up our areas.
